About Me
Hello, my fellow Tigers! I am absolutely thrilled to be living my dream as an Agricultural Science Teacher here at Arcata High School! I earned my bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Environmental Education. During and after college, I worked for over a decade in the organic horticulture industry here in Humboldt County, gaining a wide and diverse understanding of our community’s food production and distribution system. All the while I stayed connected to the world of environmental education, designing and delivering programs for R.M. Pyles Boys Camp, City of Arcata, and Mad River Alliance. I then returned to Humboldt State, earning my multiple subject teaching credential. This allowed me to work as a 5th and 6th Grade Teacher at Freshwater Elementary School and to have a tremendous amount of fun with six groups of young people. I am brand new to the science department here at AHS and could not be more excited to have finally landed my dream job!
