Aliyah Cline, Special Education Teacher, Life Skills

I'm excited to introduce myself as the new teacher for Room 901 Life Skills class. With over two decades of experience working in the special needs community, I've been involved since my teenage years. Growing up with a brother who has autism has deepened my personal connection to this field.

After studying psychology at UC Santa Cruz and graduating in 2010, I gained expertise in ABA and other life skills teaching practices through various companies. In 2018 I earned two teaching credentials in mild-mod and mod-severe special education from HSU (now Cal Poly). I began my teaching career by teaching a therapeutic learning class in Humboldt County for 4 years, a special education program for students with high emotional/behavior support needs. I spent the last school year working as a roaming Special Education teacher for Glen Paul School, where I got to support and observe several different life skills classrooms around the county. This will be my 6th year teaching. I'm thrilled to join this program and collaborate with Greg Rowe, as well as the knowledgeable staff on campus.

Some more things about me? I love art, music, outdoors/nature, board games, video games, card games, cooking, and dogs. My husband is a fisheries biologist that works for California Fish and Wildlife and we are high school sweethearts. I have two 15 pound rescue dogs and a 20 pound cat. This is just the tip of the iceberg, so feel free to ask me more!

While I understand the challenges that come with teaching in a life skills class, I'm committed to applying all of my skills, patience, humor, and compassion to this classroom. I value open communication and encourage you to connect with me via email ([email protected]) or phone (707-825-2400 X24901) during my office hours:

  10:35 am- 11:25 am

I aim to establish a rapport and understand your student's goals for the future. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Aliyah Cline
