Bio… This will be my 29th year teaching English at Arcata High School. I am the current English Department Chair. I earned my English degree, teaching credential, and supplementary authorization in art from Humboldt State, now Cal Poly Humboldt. I find joy in teaching and learning from my colleagues and all the fantastic students at AHS. I aspire to nurture an active, vibrant community of aware learners who become connected through writing, poetry, story, and art.

 

My Why...I love teaching. What I enjoy most about teaching English is learning about life, ourselves, and others through stories, poetry, and rich discussions. I am inspired by watching young people evolve as readers, writers, and critical thinkers--by hearing their truths, and those of others, which ultimately leads us to universal meaning, connection, and purpose.
