About Me

Hello my name is Laurie Griffith Renteria and I teach Integrated Math 1 and Health. I grew up in Arcata and went to Jacoby Creek School and Arcata High. I took freshman year typing in the same room I am teaching in now. :) While attending St. Mary's College, I played volleyball and softball. I started my career teaching Algebra and PE at Liberty High School in Brentwood. My husband and I decided to move our family back to Humboldt in 2006 and we couldn't be happier about it. My oldest is a junior at Sonoma State, my middle is a sophomore at Davis and my youngest a sophomore at AHS. I have been coaching volleyball for Arcata for 15 years and am excited to be teaching here now. I really enjoy high school age students and am looking forward to another year of teaching and coaching!
