Biography

I’ve been a secondary social science teacher for over 28 years in the Northern Humboldt Union HSD. After graduating from Arcata High and Humboldt State with a degree in History, I went on to get my teaching credential. In 2005, I earned a master’s degree in Teaching American History and finished a second master's degree in History from Arizona State University in Spring 2020. One of my proudest achievements was being awarded the Gilder Lehrman California History Teacher of the Year in 2012. Besides my two beautiful daughters, I enjoy reading and walking on the beach with my dog, Rooney.
