Principal's Message

Arcata Tigers!

My name is Ron Perry, and I am proud to introduce myself as the Principal of Arcata High School.  As many of you know, I have deep roots in Arcata. I grew up in Arcata and, by all measures, I was a successful student and athlete at AHS. I met my wife at AHS and when we had the chance we moved back to Arcata.   My children benefited tremendously from the teachers and staff at AHS, now I have the exciting opportunity to be part of the AHS team once again.

As a first-generation college graduate, I am perpetually thankful for the knowledge, skills, and determination my teachers and coaches gifted to me during my time at Arcata High School. It was at AHS that the value of teamwork was embedded in my character. AHS has long been home to an excellent staff, high academic expectations, and a readiness to move students to new heights through its dedication to fostering inclusiveness.  I look forward to working together with our entire learning community to build upon this tradition as we strive to achieve our goals of being a truly exemplary school.

These last few years have been challenging for all of us as we have had to deal with the uncertainty of the pandemic, but the admin team at AHS is ready to lead AHS into its next phase of learning, growth, and success. Together with Assistant Principal, Tahnia Campbell, and Dean of Students, Jessie Burns, I am eager to lead the Tiger Team.
