Teacher Profile

My name is Mitchell Kane. For the 2023-24 school year, I am teaching five sections of Physical Education and I am the Physical Education Department Chair. I have been a teacher for over 20 years, coached football and basketball, and spent two years as Athletic Director at Arcata High School. I have also taught Health and Driver's Education/Training in the NHUHSD. I am an Arcata High School Alumni (Class of 1982) and a graduate of Humboldt State University. I have been married to my beautiful wife Tiffany for 35 years and have two grown daughters. I am a sports and outdoor enthusiast! I have been an avid cyclist for 35 years completing over 50 Centuries *(100-mile tours/races) and I have completed approximately 100,000 miles of cycling in my lifetime. In addition to cycling. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, and snow skiing are my go-to outdoor activities. I also love to travel, especially to tropical destinations. I am looking forward to the 2023-224 school year with great enthusiasm and I hope that you are too!
