Teacher Bio

My name is Mitchell Kane. For the 2023-24 school year, I am teaching five sections of Physical Education. I am also the Physical Education Department Chair. I have been a teacher for 22 years, coached football and basketball, and spent two years as Athletic Director at Arcata High School. I have also taught Health and Driver's Education/Training at the NHUHSD. I am an Arcata High School Alumni (Class of 1982) and a graduate of Humboldt State University. I have been married to my beautiful wife Tiffany for 35 years and have two grown daughters. I am a sports and outdoor enthusiast! I have been an avid cyclist for 35 years completing over 50 Centuries *(100-mile tours/races) and I have completed approximately 100,000 miles of cycling in my lifetime. In addition to cycling, I enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, and snow/water skiing. I also love to travel, especially to tropical destinations. I look forward to the 2023-224 school year with great enthusiasm and hope you do too!
